What this statement does
This statement explains how we handle the personal information we may collect when you use this website, https://sunlight.org.nz. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, including a person’s email address. When we use the terms we, us or our, we are referring to a small group of trusted psychologists and a lawyer who are helping the profession understand and respond to the Psychologists Board’s consultation on scopes of practice.
You can browse without providing personal information
You can browse this website without disclosing your personal information. For example, we do not automatically record personal information or link information that is recorded automatically with personal information about specific individuals.
What we collect
If you use the site’s ‘Add your submission’ functionality, we may collect your email address if you choose to provide it, together with any other personal information you may choose to enter through the submission form (to be clear, though, you are not required to provide any personal information to us).
If you use the site’s contact form, we may collect whatever personal information you choose to enter into that form, such as your name or email address.
Why we collect it
If you choose to provide personal information as described above, we may use it to contact you in relation to the Psychologists Board’s consultation on scopes of practice, or related matters.
Who will hold it
Your personal information will be held by the administrators of this website. They will take all reasonable steps to ensure it is stored and managed securely.
Who will see it
If you choose to enter any personal information, that personal information will be viewable by the small group of people administering this website or considering how to respond to issues the Psychologists Board is raising or generating (i.e., a small group of trusted psychologists and lawyers). It will not be viewable by anyone else. It will not be viewable by the Psychologists Board nor will it be viewable by the membership of the various Facebook groups that have been formed to discuss the Board’s consultation.
We will not share your personal information with any other agency or organisation unless we have your prior informed consent to do so.
Please note that, if you are willing to replicate your submission to the Board here, we may publish aggregated statistical information, and some or all of your submission, if we consider it necessary or desirable to do so in the interests of the profession and the people we serve, but we will not publish information that does or could identify you. Access and correction
You have the right to access and to request correction of any of your personal information that we hold. To exercise this right, or to ask us anything else in relation to your privacy, please contact us at info@sunlight.org.nz
We may require proof of your identity before being able to provide you with any personal information or answer questions you may have.
